I’m a single grandparent raising a 4 year old girl, and one of 20,000 [they say] in the San Diego area doing this.
While I belong to one small group of support for like persons, there is a serious shortage of companions, others, friends, maybe even a date, in this process! Any tips?

have you tried the social online communities to meet people in your area? One of the goals of this website (not the blog.. the actual website http://parentsrpeople.com ) is to give parents and grandparents the opportunity to meet people and even date with the group features and single dating section of the site. We have only been live 5 weeks so there may not be a tremendous amount of people in your area…yet. But make a profile and set your status as single and join our dating section. Also, create a group in the groups section and call it granparents in SanDiego…. give it a little time,..and see who joins your group. It may take a little time since we are new but hopefully it will help as this is what we intended when we developed this community! Good Luck to you!

I’m a hardworker who never seems to be appreciated for my accomplishments at work. Intead of being appreciated, my coworkers are always reminding me of my imperfections. Its a tragedy that they dont see me as a asset. My boss really doesn’t care one way or the other. She just wants me to do my job. I mean, I could be lying dead in my office for a week, and she could probably care less. Its sad to see so much self love where I work. I guess I’m probably expecting to much by wanted a congratulations for my hard work every so often. I guess its just to much to ask.
